Hear ye! Hear ye! For those of you who have been waiting on the edge of your seat for THE announcement about the October Read, Pray, Love book club book, here’s the title:
Drum roll please…..(I should look and figure out how to make the sound effect come out the computer…next time.)
12 Truths to Change Your Marriage: A Respect Dare Journey by Nina Roesner
12 Truths (as I will be calling it from here on out) is the companion book for Daughters of Sarah, the newest training series from Greater Impact Ministries, which will be launching soon and you know you will get to be on the forefront of any news that we have.
But it’s not just a companion book. You can read it on its own either before or after The Respect Dare. 12 Truths is divided into 12 sections with a dare or two at the end of each chapter as well as some journaling questions to consider.
You might be surprised to learn that the first seven truths are really about us as women, what we think believe, know as truth, and what our influences are.
I can hear your brain cogs turning: Wait a minute Leah, I thought this was a book about marriage. How can over half of it be about just me?
If you’ve been around here on this blog, on the facebook page, or over on Nina’s and Debbie’s blog, you know that we talk a lot about the parts we have influence over – our motivations, our thoughts, our actions, and our attitudes. I’m so glad that Nina takes the time to go in depth with so much of what impacts our thought processes as wives.
And something else I really like about this book is that it’s very book-like as opposed to daily dare. So if something takes you longer to get through than a day or two, you won’t “fall behind” so to speak since it’s not meant to be a daily thing. This is some feedback that I’ve gotten from my small groups – that some of the dares take more than one day and time is important to think and pray through and get feedback from the Mr.
Also I think some people prefer “book” books. I’ll be honest – sometimes the “40 day” books make me feel like I have a deadline. Sometimes in this super-busy-mom-to-very-cute-but-very-needy-little-people phase a “book” book is a little more forgiving if I fall off for a few days or let’s face it…weeks.
You will love the content in this book. Even if you choose not to journal or choose not to do the dares, the content will impact how you think about yourself and your marriage.
And, since I know the author, I’m going to ask her to do us a little favor for the book club. If you have a question about The Respect Dare, 12 Truths, or Daughters of Sarah, now is the time to ask! Just leave your question in the comments and we’ll pick one question to answer live on the October book club discussion.
Since this will be our October book club book, I have TWO copies to giveaway thanks to Nina and Greater Impact Ministries.
If you want to join on the discussion, make sure you join the Read, Pray, Love book club newsletter and get all of the information that you need to join in.
I’m so excited to discuss this book with you all. And don’t worry, if you’re just joining me on the blog, you still have time to join before we discuss October’s book. YAY! Everybody wins!
Thanks for joining us along the journey.

This book sounds like something that will help any woman no matter how many years you have been married. Especially the first few chapters examining ourselves. Sometimes we try to make our spouse make us happy. That doesn’t work. Looking forward to reading this book. Hope I win. Thanks for the chance.

Looking forward to learn more from this book. My marraige is faltering and I am learning that much of the struggles have stemmed from my perceptions. Time to break the mold and move into a time of Gods promises.

Chances are, this is a really good book. Will it be available from Christianbook.com? I do not see it listed there yet? That is usually where I get my books from, as I am from Canada. Thanks.
