At the end of the day, at the end of all the things that needed cared for and searched for, cooked up and cleaned up, it can feel like you've just got nothing left to give any one.

Whether you work in or outside the home, have small, grown, or no children, how you participate in your community and interact with your family - there are so many things every day that require your attention and energy.

And you know that when you aren't working on growing closer in your marriage, it's easier to drift apart.

As much as you don't need another item on the to do list every day, you also really don't want your marriage to become a to do list item.

Books and blog posts, date nights and time away - it's all helpful to your marriage. Each article you've read has helped you learn more and each getaway moment is something to treasure.

But what about day in and day out? When you're tapped out, touched out, stretched too thin, pulled out of shape, and fraying around the edges? Are there habits you can work on, in just a couple of minutes each day that can make a difference in your marriage? Can you invest daily in your marriage in a way that's life giving to both you and your husband?

Making Marriage Matter: Breathing Life Into Your Marriage through a Heart Attitude of Thankfulness was created to encourage you in your right now of marriage. To help you find the perspective change that you’re looking for. To help you build a habit of intentionality in your marriage each day. To help you make a difference in your marriage in less than 5 minutes each day.

My wife and I recently celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary. Her gift to me was a hand made book containing her homework from the Making Marriage Matter study she had recently completed. In addition to the homework pages with hand written notes the book contains the Bible verse of the day. This is the most meaningful gift I've ever received because it gives me a glimpse of my wife's heart, struggles and joys. I'm thankful for the gift. She loved the study. I hope and pray that other women will complete this study and make similar books for their husbands. May God continue to use this material to strengthen marriages and bring glory to Him! - Carl & Mande

Making Marriage Matter is absolutely refreshing! I love Leah’s heart for marriages and her seasoned, scripture-saturated perspective and guidance. Going through the course day-by-day reignited gratitude and joy in my heart and marriage! After seven years of marriage, it’s easy to overlook and take for granted marriage. I’m so glad I took the time to pause, reflect, and express my appreciation and admiration to my husband. It was such a delight to look back over our journey as well as where we are today and be GRATEFUL for what we have together. I highly recommend this course! -Katie Bennett,

Meet Leah

Hi. I'm Leah. I’m the wife to a sexy, beard-sporting, man of God and mom to three cutie-pie-heads. I love coffee, a good Netflix binge, and encouraging other women in their marriages.

I don't love saying it but I know how easy it can be to drift in a marriage. First in feelings, then actions and words. I know to guard against that, it takes intentionality to grow and to build good habits for our marriages and towards our husbands.

It would be my honor to walk with you and be your cheerleader as you work to make your marriage matter in whatever season you find yourself in right now.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s your worldview for life and marriage?

As a Christian, I believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible word of God. My own journey is a mark of God’s grace and I would be lost without Him. Since this course is an extension of my own journey, each day includes a Bible verse and a prayer.

Are you a counselor?

I am not a counselor. I am a writer and blogger with a heart for marriage and encouraging women. What is talked about here is intended for good-intentioned marriages, or marriages that do not include the 4 A's - abuse, abandonment, adultery, and addiction. If you are experiencing any of the 4 A's in your marriage, please seek godly counsel and professional help.

Will this work for my marriage?

This course is not a magic pill or formula and there’s no guarantee that you’ll get the exact results you’re hoping for. Instead, it’s an opportunity to work on your heart, to change your perspective in your marriage. The fruit of these activities may not be realized immediately and may take some time to grow. Just like marriage, this challenge is meant to glorify God and to allow Him to do His work through us.

How can I access?

Access to Making Marriage Matter is available on any device, simply by logging in on my website.

How does the course work?

Each day, there will be a short teaching, Bible verse, bullet journal, prayer, and optional activities to try based on the lesson. When you sign in, you'll see the content broken into weeks with journal pages and videos.

Why can I only see the first week when I log in?

The lessons have been grouped into one week sections that will drip out automatically once a week. It is my hope that this will help with any possible overwhelm and as a reminder to gear up again each week.

Do I need anything in addition to the course itself?

Each day of the course, you will be directed to write in a journal. You could do this in your regular journal, or a special journal just for this. If you do it in a special journal, you could give it to your husband when you are finished, but you definitely don’t have to. It’s up to you. Of course, you can complete the activities by printing the provided weekly worksheets, which would also make a great combined journal when you're finished.

What if I get behind on the content?

No worries, life happens. Just pick back up where you left off.

What's your refund policy?

30 days full money back refund from the time of purchase. No hassles. You can simply email me at leah at and I will take care of it for you.

Is my information secure?

Yes, absolutely! The checkout process is protected by SSL, the same service used by major online retailers like Amazon. Also, you will have a safely stored unique username and password.

Is this a one-time purchase?

Yes, and you won’t be charged again.

What does my purchase support?

Every purchase supports Life Around the Coffee Cup, the work and community we have here, and my family. 10% is donated to the Apparent Project in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
