Colossians 3:23-24 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Heavenly Father, God, thank you for the desire that you created inside of my husband to provide for our family – almost an insatiable urge to make sure we are taken care of. Thank you for the work that he does to provide for us financially, but also how he takes time to care for our bodies, our minds, and our spiritual walks. This is a big responsibility and I pray I would never take it lightly or try to take it away from him out of fear. Thank you God for how you made my husband. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I know this might be a tough one to start with for some of you who are in a really tough job situation or a no job situation. Remember in the original post I suggested to pray a prayer of thanksgiving for this anyways. Our Great Big God is outside of time and He has a plan for this. So thank God for what He is doing in your husband in this area.
Like I said yesterday, my husband is a hard worker. His drive to provide for us fills a lot of hours of the week, especially with the season we are in right now. Whenever I get frustrated over the number of hours, I always try to take a step back and think about that inner drive that is pushing him to keep going, even when it’s hard, even when it stinks, so that we never have to worry about food or clothes or lights or gas.
———-
Thanks, love, for working all of the hours you do so that I never have to worry about or think about money. I never have to wonder if I can put a full tank of gas in the car instead of just a couple gallons. I never worry about getting the kids what they need or being able to buy groceries and household supplies. Thanks for working so hard to take care of us. #thankshubs

Now, it’s your turn. Take a minute and write what you’re thankful for when it comes to your husband’s job or a prayer of thanksgiving of your own. Put it in the comments, on facebook, twitter, or instagram. Be sure to use the hashtag #thankshubs and #day2provider when you post it. You can even tag me @leahheffner (twitter) or @respectdare (facebook and instagram). And if you’re a blogger, leave your post in the linky below and feel free to grab the button for your posts.
Thanks for doing this with me! It’s always more fun with friends!

My husband is our security provider. I love that he locks our doors at night so I feel secure. #thankshubs #day2provider

Thank you hubs for providing a roof over our heads. Thanks for ensuring that we are secure at all times. Lord I thank you for a husband who provides. Continue to bless him as he takes care of his family. Lord though I often complain and nag help me to alway see how he works hard to provide for us and to compliment him more often about his provisions and to speak life over him through encouraging words. #thankshubs #day2provider @respectdare
