When David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the army, the mighty men…”Be strong, and let us show ourselves courageous for the sake of our people and for the cities of our God; and may the LORD do what is good in His sight.”-2 Samuel 10:7,12
Heavenly Father, God, thank you for my husband. Thank you that he is a man of action. There is certainly a time to plan and to seek counsel, and I thank you for those things. I thank you that you have built into him motion, action, taking scoots, steps, or leaps of faith after what you have called him to. Thank you that he is not satisfied sitting and waiting for you to hand him something but that he is willing to take action in his faith and to start somewhere and move forward. Thank you for action, God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As I mentioned before, my husband is a planner. At the end of those plans is action.
We have a God-sized vision for a ministry that we want to start and grow over the course of our time on this earth. When we first started talking and dreaming, my husband suggested that we had two options:
One was to change nothing about our lives and to just wait for God to drop the ministry in our laps, hand us everything we would need, and then do it.
The other was to make changes and take steps – big steps, small steps – that got us closer to being ready for the time God has in mind for us to start this ministry. We could pay off our debt, center our work life around our family, relocate and travel to meet and work with different people, and the list goes on and on.

Thanks, love, for being a man of action. I love that you don’t just sit and wait for things to happen but you seek to learn and move so that God can grow you, grow us, as the plans for our future come together more and more. Thank you for taking action when you should and waiting when you shouldn’t.
