When my daughter was just over one, I realized I was hearing silence for the first time in over a year. It took a second to sink in that this was a new concept, which meant something was ‘off’ so to speak and that I needed to figure out where my little peanut was.
I found her very quickly. She pulling apples out of my recently acquired stash of two bushels and was taking one bite out of each apple she could get her hands on.
‘Quiet Time’ is an interesting concept for a mom of little people. Actually if it gets too quiet at my house, I know that the kids have found their way into something that they shouldn’t have. I know most moms can relate to that same thought.
So if it’s rarely quiet at my house, how am I supposed to do Quiet Time “right”?
Enter Guilt Free Quiet Times which is currently available in the Ultimate Christian Living Bundle, which ends tomorrow.
GFQT isn’t a devotional – it’s more like a how-to on doing (or not doing) devotional, or quiet time. It’s about grace, so much grace, and also some awesome ideas. And she’s clever – her opening of each chapter had me texting friends to tell them what she said.
I know that with two little people at my house who depend on me to fulfill most of their needs right now, I’m lucky to have a few minutes to myself, let alone a perfect quiet time. This book was such a blessing as it helped me to see ‘rules’ that I still had ingrained about my time with God and why I still feel like I’m not good enough even when I’m trying so hard to make that time.
This book along with 11 others make up the Devotional section of the Ultimate Christian Living Bundle 2014. It’s pretty awesome and I invite you to check it out by clicking the banner below. But hurry, ok? Because it ends tomorrow.
