Sorry it’s been so quiet on here.
My kids are both sick. Chesty coughs. Runny noses. Unpleasant temperaments. Short naps. Whining. O, so much whining.
So I guess I should say “It’s been quiet here on my blog” because it hasn’t been quiet at my house.
I haven’t been able to even put two thoughts together to write a blog or promote an old post on facebook.
I thought a week would go by with nothing from me.
But I didn’t think that would be good. Not to you who are in the thick of it too. Not for you who might think I have my stuff together (which, I don’t). Not for you who need some community and some love.
It’s not profound. It’s not polished. But it’s real.
“He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.” Isaiah 40:11
Gals, He’s got this. He knows where you are in your life, the personalities and temperaments He’s blessed you with. He knows that your babies are sick or crying or teething or puking or destroying or climbing or falling or whatever. He knows. And He’s got this. He’s got you.
And He, the Creator of the universe, the Lover of your soul, the All-knowing and All-present God is holding YOU and leading you gently who has little ones.
Dare you to leave some love for each other.

Not only does He know your babies are sick, but it pains Him even more than it does you to see them miserable. Because they are His beloved children. And even though it’s impossible to comprehend, He loves them even more than you do. And while you’re in the thick of it. Keep in mind…YOU are His beloved child too.

Kimber –
You are so right. I try to remember every day in my prayers that they are God’s – on loan to me – and that He would show me how to love and follow Him even though I already know that might mean they end up doing something somewhere that is bigger than I could imagine. Thank you for this reminder!
