Hey y’all! This is December’s Monday Musing, a little vlog post where you can learn 3 things about me right now, and also catch up with the cutie kids, the Heffner Homestead, and learn what I’m reading and maybe a few other cool things. Ready?
Cutie Kids
Well our littlest Poppy seed is 7 weeks old. There is some weird baby-time-continuum which makes pregnancy days long, overdue days like 12x longer than that and then it all catches back up in the first months of baby’s life. Seriously. She’s huge, y’all. She’s in 3-6 month shirts. I don’t think she wore half of her 0-3 wardrobe. THE CRAZINESS. Also she laughed yesterday and rolled from back to belly, which may have been helped by some unevenness on the bed she was laying on (fully supervised).
Our man cub, Dozer, fell asleep on Daddy’s shoulder yesterday at church and I lost it. I cried. I feel like I messed up his baby time and missed out on it. Hubs says that all moms feel that way. He’s probably right. Still, my mommy tears were flowing.
And Lemonade has started this new thing of running from across the house just to tell me she loves me and to tell she just likes being close to me. I mean, she must have found the ‘How to Melt Mommy’s Heart’ section of my owner’s manual.
Heffner Homestead
Well unlike last month, I actually have been out to the garden. My husband is kicking butt getting it ready for Spring. He’s mulching the leaves and he called the utilities board to get their mulch from cutting trees.
And he just talked to our landlord about getting chickens. And since we got the nod of approval, Hubs is having chicken dreams. I’m sure he’ll be so psyched when the Murray Hatchery catalog comes in the Spring.
What I’m Reading and Other News
I’m reading Strong-Will Child to finish off the Dobson trifecta. I feel like I was reading something else. I’ve felt this way for about a week and can’t seem to think of what it is or find it.
Hmm. What else? Well I haven’t finished Christmas shopping yet. If you are in the same boat as me, you might be interested in the Outdoorsy Guy Christmas present ideas. I know I’ll be going back through them later. And thank goodness I have Amazon Prime y’all!
