It’s been so long since I made a video for you. And I was excited about it all morning and now the kiddos are snug in their beds after wearing themselves out on the borrowed bounce house. (I stinkin’ love that thing.) Anyways, I made a video for you today of three things that you might like to know about me today.
[And I kinda liked it. So I might just do it again. Let me know what you think, k?]
Ok, so I might have talked a little longer this time but it was fun. For me. Maybe not for you. Let me know what you think.
On The Homestead
So like I said in the video, we are switching from our summer garden to our fall garden. What I’m supposed to do with ALL of this parsley, mint, and rosemary is beyond me. Like, what do I even do with it? I will dry the mint, but where? And I read somewhere to freeze the parsley so it won’t lose its flavor. And I know in theory that one dries rosemary but is there a trick? Anyone?
Also we had to harvest all of our pumpkins, and guys, the big one….sniff…isn’t going to make it. It’s rotting just sitting here in the yard. And it makes me so sad y’all. SO very sad.
We also found wood chips and man, and is my hubby excited. I think I told you that last week.
My Cutie Family
The cute is getting thick around here as we wait for the arrival of our new baby. Which, if you want to see our maternity pictures, check out this post.
My daughter started AWANA last week and at the beginning thought I was leaving her, ne’er to return. ANd by the end, she decided she’d like to go every day. So that went well.
Also during the maternity pictures she kept saying “Say ‘seaweed'” which is what the little character on her show Octonauts says when she takes pictures. Our photographer almost busted a gut laughing at her craziness.
And my son still INSISTS that his name is Big Boy but my husband really likes to get his goat and call him ‘Mister’ which for whatever reason makes him mad as all get out.
He also walked right up to another mom at the play ground this morning and said “Hi. I wih-le. Sih-ter big.” ย He is such a ham baby.
Pregnancy Update
My memory is getting worse, that must be true. The way I’m feeling I’m SURE I’ve never felt before and my sister says I did have all this before but maybe I should write some things down? So that I know if my brain is working? I don’t know.
With the round ligament pain, I used kinesiology tape. I wish I looked as cool Kerri Walsh Jennings playing a few pregnant in the Olympics. (I even tweeted her, maybe she’ll tweet me back? I would fan girl like nobody’s business.)
I would say that the extreme increase in humidity is making my fingers and toes swell like I’ve never seen before, MY toes look like little vienna sausages. Which is totez adorbz.
And I’m 34 weeks. So I had to write my birth plan. And I’m practically in the home stretch. Weekly appointments. Hopefully I can hold them off on that. But I’m mostly trying to wait two more weeks to get stuff ready till my parents are here.
What I’m Reading
Still finishing up Bringing Up Boys. I bet you are thinking that I am the slowest reader, but I’ve read a few other things for reviews and what not in the mean time. Plus Redeeming Childbirth. So there you have it.
In Other News
Last week, I mentioned that I was headed to a cool event. Well, I’ll tell you now that I was in Atlanta at the Red Carpet World Premiere of 90 Minutes in Heaven which is based on the book 90 Minutes in Heaven. I took a friend. We road tripped. I stayed up WAY later than I have in AGES and AGES. And then took daaaaaaays to recover. We walked the red carpet. We talked TONS. It was delicious.
And the movie was really good. It comes out this week, on Friday. And the production company, Giving Films is super cool and you should check them out, k?
And a big thanks to Family Christian for sending me. ๐
Well that’ll do for today. Be sure to join over on facebook because I’m going to want your opinion on some things and I’ll probably ask there. If you have opinions I’d like to hear them.

Step 1: Leah sees a great idea for a haircut.
Step 2: Leah convinces herself that she loves said haircut too much to live without it and gets wicked amnesia about every other time she’s regretted a short haircut and/or bangs.
Step 3: Leah gets said haircut without much thought because she’s too excited to stand it.
Step 4: Approximately 2 minutes after getting said haircut Leah is filled with tremendous regret when the reality of life sets in and swears to grow it out again.
Step 5: Repeat process before ever finishing step 4.
But as always, you get to decide. ๐

You clearly didn’t see this week’s video where I said I wasn’t cutting it.
You should also relive the synopsis where I create problems to give advice to. I should use that as a post. HA
