Hi Friends!! It’s time for the Monthly Pick-Me-Up! If you’re new or maybe don’t know what the Monthly Pick-Me-Up is, it’s an opportunity for us to get to know one of our community members and then send her some mail. For the full explanation on the MPMU, click here.
This month’s Monthly Pick-Me-Up featured community member is Rachel!
Rachel is a really good sport, being the first recipient and therefore, the guinea pig helping me work out some of the kinks in MPMU. Here’s a brief interview with her so that you can get to know her!
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
Hi, I’m Rachel. I’m a 30 year old wife of a Handsome Preacher and mother to a 2 ½ year old “Train-ductor” and an 18 month old “little bugger”. I also have a BA in Family Life Ministry. I met my Handsome Preacher my freshman year of college and we have been married for 7 years. One hobby of mine is mastering the art of gluten free cooking and baking. I teach a women’s Bible Study and host a PlayGroup at my church. I would love to become more involved with our local Pregnancy Support Center in the coming year.
What is your favorite part of online community? Why?
I’m a part of a few FB groups for mommies that are very informative and encouraging. I really think you can just put a prayer request out there and know that so many people you know and some you haven’t ever even met are praying for you.
What is your least favorite part? Why?
Getting sucked in…I catch myself looking at my phone way too often and for way too long.
How do you get community in your every day life?
Through my church family.
Read any good books lately?
Sadly, no.
What is your favorite post or topic at Life Around the Coffee Cup?
I’m pretty new so I am still checking older posts out. I can definitely relate to being the messy older sister who HATES cleaning. I totally need to find my groove!
Ok, the most important question: how do you take your coffee and how many cups a day do you drink?
I make 6-8 cups in the morning. I drink one with a bit of sugar and almond milk. The Handsome Preacher drinks the rest. Sometimes the little bugger dumps mine on the floor.
Ok friends, you know what to do! Let’s send Rachel some love this month! Here’s how and where to do it:

Get them post marked by January 25 so I can get them to Rachel in one big package of fun!
