The One After the Move

Well, friends, in case you missed it, we did it. We took the plunge.

We packed up our tiny little 700 sq ft house into a box truck which I believe had the same cubic footage as our house and moved our belongings and ourselves 500+ miles to a new state, new house, new job, new life.

My mom came and seriously, if any of you are moving, hire her to pace your unpacking. We unpacked 95% of the boxes in three days with two kids underfoot and my husband working on and off. The boxes that were left when she headed home are admittedly still sitting packed and waiting for me. So if you’re moving, hire my mom. She’s the bomb.

Our new house, it has a yard. The kids run and run and run. And walk and discover and play. And it’s glorious. Plus it’s warmer here so we get to do that a lot more often.

And we can grow into this new house. That means we don’t have to move every year or two. There’s a toy room. And a guest room and a mud room where I can STORE stuff. I just want to roll around on the wood floors some days.

The One After the Move

Do I sound excited? I’m excited. And it’s not just the house or the yard.

This move has been about five years coming. It started with a dream on our honeymoon. Then we felt led to become debt-free so that we would be ready to do the next thing, even when we didn’t know what the next thing was.

And this is it. The next step. This relocation. This new life.

We are wanting to serve pastors and missionaries in a very real and hands-on way, to give them rest and to build into them for the very important and amazing ministry that they do.

So what does this mean?

So far it means moving and a new job for my husband. It means we’ll be hands on. It means I’ll be exploring some new things on the blog.

It means change. It means work. It means beauty. It means mess.

My favorite things.

And I just wanted to share it with you.

I’m so looking forward to getting back into the swing of blogging and see what comes out of this. And I’m excited for you all to join me.

Do you really roll around on the floors? That I’d like to see.
