Sometimes I get to the end of the day, and I can only think of the hard parts, the grimy parts, the parts I muscled through and probably yelled through, and maybe even wanted to cry through.
And sometimes I get to the end of a day so overflowing that I can hardly think of all the amazing things that happened.
And of course, there’s regular days. Days where the hard and the beautiful mingle together in a glorious pattern that continues to form the tapestry of my life.
But I forget. I forget too easily the good. I’m also forgetting more of the bad, but I forget to stop and praise for the good.
I don’t want to forget to praise God for the good. For a glimpse or full-frontal attack of His faithfulness.
We were talking about how God is faithful in Bible study a few weeks back and choosing to look for it every day. In big things and small things. So the woman leading our study said that she and a friend texted each other each night to share a way they had seen God’s faithfulness throughout the day.
She shared this Psalm with us:
Psalm 92
1 It is good to praise the Lord
and make music to your name, O Most High,
2 proclaiming your love in the morning
and your faithfulness at night,
So I decided to start doing this at night. Just pick one show of God’s faithfulness. End my day praising.
Or in the morning, I think of a show of God’s love. Start my day praising.
And I’m not doing it every day, but I love the days that I do – focusing on the God’s outpouring of faithfulness.
I decided to tweet them so I can share them with other people and we can join in the praising.
And, I’d like to invite you to join me too.
Use any social media you want and the hashtags #psalm92 and #faithfulnessatnight or #loveinthemorning .
[And if you tag me (@LeahHeffner) in them, I’ll just be so excited to see other people joining in this and praising.]
What do you think, friends, about joining together in praise across the interwebs? We could fill cyber space with so much praise for the God who loves us and created us.
