Hey Friends. It’s been so quiet around here. We got the bubonic flu here. I don’t know if that’s the right term, but we had throwing up for a week, including in the car as I drove down the highway. I’m earning Mommy Merit Badges left and right over here, folks. Not the easiest of weeks but here we are, on the other side, no more vomiting and getting through the laundry mountain of washing like EVERYTHING we owned. Ok, on to the goods here.
Three Things You Want to Know About Me Today
Well, I mean, besides the vomit…here are my 3 for today.
- It’s FALL in East TN. We have two parties this week (and a due date but I’ve never had a baby by a due date before so I’m not planning on it now…) and I’m comfortably wearing PANTS. O glorious day. I’ts making the pregnancy a lot more comfortable.
- I cannot reach my toenails to paint them. I need some help. And it’s not so much the painting as it is removing the old caked-on layers and polish. I think I could get some paint on there. Plus Lemonade really wants to have a nail-painting party today. I don’t think she can get it off for me.
- I could eat brownies constantly. After losing a few pounds during the flu, I think I could make them back up.
Heffner Homestead
The cabbages we planted too late in the summer are turning into awesome heads of cabbages! And my carrots still look awesome. But I can’t say I’ve even been out to the big garden to look at it. I’ll blame it on …well laziness to be honest.
I did up my first batch of cranberry chutney. O my word. This stuff is so good. It makes me excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas. YUM
Cutie Kids
We took a hike today. My kids reminded me to wear a hat so I wouldn’t get spider webs in my hair. Then they both needed hats. Lemonade chose an Elsa hat with a ponytail. Dozer chose a safari hat. Because, well why wouldn’t he? Then he ran the entire trail and Lemonade held my hand and stayed very close, that is, until she decided she needed to bring all the leaves from the whole forest home for her artwork. O this child.
My kids need the driveway clear constantly so they can ride their bikes. They call themselves race bikers. They look so precious riding together and being buddies and my heart just wants to explode. 3rd trimester hormones and the cutest kids make for lots of tears.
Pregnancy Update
So we moved back my due date by 5 days. Really this just helps people (doctors) not get so dern antsy when the baby is late anyways. So Oct 22. Still good to go. Now laundry is done, baby stuff is clean, blankets and diapers and all kinds of things. OO and after the vomit incident we cleaned and rearranged the carseats in the van, so the baby’s seat is in. Now to assemble the swings and seats and stuff.
What I’m Reading
Well, I’m not really reading anything. I mean I’m part way into my reading list I shared last time, but I haven’t read much in the last couple weeks with the flu. I want to get Bringing Up Girls finished before the baby comes so I need to get back at it.
In Other News…
Not much here to report. I will have some exciting non-baby-blog-related news in the coming weeks, days maybe. YAY! Stayed tuned. And join me on social media to never miss a thing. Links are on the side profile.
