#thankshubs #day14maturity
Ephesians 4:14-15 So that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ
Heavenly Father, God, thank You for my husband. Thank You for how you are growing him in his walk with You. I am so blessed to see the ways he has grown and matured. As he learns to speak the truth in love, in all of life’s situations, I know You are right there with him, growing and shaping him. Thank You God for loving him that much. And for loving me that much. Amen.

One of my favorite Husband-isms at my house is “You can only stand in front of a tree for so long and ask it why it’s a tree. It isn’t going to change because you keep asking it.”
This expressions used to drive me nuts. I felt like it was seal on the conversation, stamp and close it up, on to the next topic.
But every time this expression has been used is in reference to things or people we have no power to change. We can only change ourselves and how we look at a situation, what boundaries we put in place, how we handle emotions, etc.
Once I realized the level of maturity it took for my husband to have this outlook for so many situations, my heart swelled.
How can our hearts change and grow in a situation as we approach it differently instead of waiting for the tree to become a lamp?

Thanks, love, for being level-headed, self-aware, and mature. How you deal with people and look at situations is a blessing and a comfort. Thanks for reminding me that the truth I am in charge of is what I believe in my heart.
