1 Timothy 4:16 Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.
Heavenly Father, God, thank you for my husband and for my marriage. It’s too easy to look at him and see his flaws. And I miss my own. I am thankful that he is self-aware and can see truth even in my criticism. Thank you that he keeps a close watch on himself and seeks godly counsel from godly men for godly teaching. Thank you that he is persistent in knowledge gaining so that he can grow and therefore we can grow as a family too. Thank you that your plan for him is so full. Amen.

You may remember that my husband likes to say things like “You can only stand in front of a tree for so long and ask why it’s a tree.” And as great as he is at applying this statement to other people, he’s also applies this to himself.
Right now he’s reading a memoir of a pastor and already wondering how the information will apply to how he continues to move forward.
That’s persistence to me.

Thanks, love, for your persistence. Our time schedules may not always look the same but I never cease to be amazed by the depth that comes back from you as you prepare to step forward in God’s timing. Thanks for being willing to work on yourself.

Now, it’s your turn. Take a minute and write what you’re thankful for when it comes to your husband’s job or a prayer of thanksgiving of your own. Put it in the comments, on facebook, twitter, or instagram. Be sure to use the hashtag #thankshubs and #day18selfaware when you post it. Leah:
I am aware that you are quite persistent yourself. You have not had to many “comment” on this blog lately, yet you are persisiting with the “thankshubs”. Good for you. Plus, I hope you get a few comments soon. (I am actually writing a short note on each – and keeping it in a journal. It is helping me to appreciate my husband more, and to see his good qualities. I may share when moved to do so. MariaJJ
