Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
Heavenly Father, God, thank You for my husband. Thank You that he promised to love me until death parts us. I am grateful for the ways that he shows me love in our every day lives. I know that sometimes I have to look for it and sometimes it’s big romantic gestures. Whichever way he shows me love today, I ask God, that You would help me notice and appreciate it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A few months back, my husband and I busted out our old 5 Love Languages surveys and redid them to see where we had changed and grew.
By doing this I realized that my husbands love currency, both giving and receiving, is acts of service.
And maybe most surprisingly, acts of service has grown for me as a way to receive love. Probably partly due to the fact that we have two toddlers and I appreciate the help and probably partly because I now recognize that that’s how my husband gives love.
Being able to see how he extends love instead of faulting him for not doing it “my” way has been an amazing gift.

Thanks, love, for loving me. I love when you love me out of your strengths of service. I love when you work really hard to love me by spending time with me and just holding my hand. Most of all, I am so grateful that the promise you made me on our wedding day, almost five years ago, is a promise I get to see you living out every day.
