[Why does this keep coming through as an error code? Let’s try this again….Sorry, friends for all the error codes and emails.]
Remember when I suggested maybe making some Christmas gifts for the hubby? And even as I typed it, I could hear it in my own head. Do I have time to make something? Do I have any energy to be creative? Do I have any good ideas?
I can tell you that I LOVE LOVE LOVE being crafty. I have 500 pins strong pinterest board to prove it. (you can follow me at http://www.pinterest.com/leahheffner/)
But my DIY fantasies have changed some in the last few years. My most-oft-created DIY items are cleaners and personal care products like toothpaste and deodorant, or food like yogurt and ketchup.
And while my mama taught me how to sew and crochet, I certainly won’t pretend like I do it well.
But I love the idea of DIY-ing more and more.
Here’s why I love to DIY.
- It’s something to do with my hands and keeps my mind sharp.
- For food stuff it almost always means cheaper and healthier – ketchup, yogurt, canning and freezing veggies, and more.
- It’s a personal and cozy gift. You can use the recipients fave colors, their name, whatever you want and make something just for them.
- It’s cheaper. Not always, but if you keep a stash of supplies, DIYing something can be relatively inexpensive over time.
- It’s super fun!!
