We’ve had a week of the crazies around here. Have you ever seen the bingo caller rolling the balls around in that rolling ball thingy and you catch glimpses of letters and numbers as they come around and then eventually the ball comes down the little shoot? This is the best analogy of my brain. It’s like *POP* I 25. *POP* Travel copy. *POP* B 2. *POP* Blog post on bridal shower *POP* You get the picture.
Anyways, I just got a ball to finally pop out. *POP* O 72. Seriously, thank goodness. My brain feels better.
This week’s video is three totally laughable things that make my life totally normal. Enjoy.
On The Homestead
We planted the garden two and a half weeks back. (I cannot for the life of me find a picture of the first planting erg-a-berg-a.) But there are some pics of the newspaper and mulching process.
So then, right before the kiddos and I left, we got all the plants in and then Hubby did the seeds because he is amazing like that. And let me tell you I was psyched because that meant the kids wouldn’t rip anything up that was too small to handle toddler finger prints.
And voila. When I got home, I had a garden. I just sat by it for a few hours. And I walk down the rows over and over again. Over and over. And look at my plants and get excited. This is what it looks like this morning.
Cutie Family Quotes and Photos
Hubby
“I’m so glad we have social media so you can post photos of our messy living room.”
(after talking about switching to fair trade coffee and that it would cause a slight increase in our budget)
“Do you think you could start making a half of a pot then since that’s all we drink? Not that I don’t love my plants getting the leftovers but maybe we’ll make up the cost difference by only making the amount of coffee that we’ll drink?”
(Seriously, he cracks me up.)
Lemonade, 3
(After discovering that she just hoed up a section of the herb garden…)
“Why did you do this to the garden? What made you think this was an ok thing to do?” – me
“Mom, I just really wanted to hoe something!” – Lemonade
“Can we please have a baby sister with a pink bow, a purple bow, a blue bow, and a rainbow bow, please?” – Lemonade
“We’ve talked about how it’s not up to mommy and daddy, but God decides whether we have a baby brother or a baby sister and we’d love either one.” -me
“But moooooooooommy. We already have a baby brother. I think it’s time to have a baby sister. And could she please have two bows – a pink bow, a purple bow, a blue bow, and a rainbow bow, PLEASE?” -Lemonade
“You are very hungry this morning. Why are you so hungry?” – me
“Because God made me that way!” -Lemonade
Dozer, 2 this week! AH!
“What’s your name? Can you tell mommy your name?” -me
“Bigga Boy!” -Dozer
Pregnancy Update
I’m 21 weeks this week. And I realized that I forgot to show you all the beautiful pictures of our beautiful baby. So here they are.
Also, as I type this s/he is kickin’ around in my belly and I’m just so excited. I saw Angie Tolpin put up a quote about the reality of a miracle literally growing inside of her and taking part in it and I was like YES!!
Pretty much I could eat Chipotle 3 meals a day. There should be some kind of pregnancy grant for Chipotle. OO! Or a kickstarter. Someone, this is a great idea. I’d be happy to be the first recipient, err guinea pig of such an important social experiment.
And my belly must have gotten huge in the two weeks I was up north visiting my parents because clothes stopped fitting while I was there. Belly photo next week. Promise. (Someone remind me though, ok? Pregnancy brain is real my friends. REAL.)
Social Media
Speaking of reminding me of things, wouldn’t it be fun and stuff to laugh at my hilarious pictures and make fun my brain farts on social media? Oh yeah, there’s also pictures of my messy house and my inability to pick a flat spot for the kids’ pool. Who wants to miss that really? So follow me on social media 🙂

Hi Leah! =)
Going into a wedding and marriage with my hubby 23 years ago, one of our “vows” was to laugh at least once a day until our sides ached. And be that as it may, some days rolled and rolled and other days effort had to be given. However, with children that instantly changed with a plethora to be amused about!
So, before kids, and without sounding gross, my first “go to” laughable normalcy comes straight from God – flatulence! It HAD to be a GOD thing, because we could never be that creative on our own! (Oh, and I should mention at this point this hilarity only ameliorated when we had kids.)
Next, now that our children are getting older (15.5 and 12) with a growing intellect overview, my next laughably normal part of life is receiving the amazing and great one-liners they come up with. i.e. “Hey ma, how’s my home-slice doin’ today?” or “Now who took my Poo-Pourri!?!” or, when we have complete conversations using all movie quotes, or, when listening to “The Man” read out loud the Bible, J***n says, “Oooh, so that’s who NIV is!”
Moving on. Suppertime conversations are very healthy in our house, this is the time when we answer the prompted question, “What was the best and worst part of the day?” Let’s just say … one never knows what their gonna get, and ultimately, a family that prays and eats together – stays together! =)
Now I can’t go without mentioning the simple and cleverly orchestrated practical jokes we play on one another, and I must admit I instigate the majority of it – and I’ve seen some good ones over the years! (Can’t count how many times I’ve crawled into bed with their hope of something to scare me – rubber snakes or bugs, miniature dinosaurs, matchbox cars, furry friends lined up, or fake poop.)
Lastly for good prosperity, I must mention how much I giggle when reading the Holy Scriptures. One may think, giggle? But yes! I personally find when I study God’s Word, many times He reveals Himself working through laughter.
In one way or another, it is the everyday simple acts of joy that I receive as blessings that make the corners of my mouth reach the sky and balloons-up my heart with gladness. I do not know who I would be without total laughable normalcy in my life. God is good – and He’s funny too!
A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance – Ecclesiastes 3:4

Hey Christine.
I remember one time my sister and I just busting up laughing in church and my mom gave us “the look” and I said “MOM! God created laughter. This is a joyful noise!” While that didn’t exactly help with “the look” it has been a good reminder to me all these years, especially as I get older and more uptight.
Thanks for sharing your great stories!!
