Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm.
Heavenly Father, God, thank You for my husband. Thank You that he is my best friend, and that I am his. Thank You for the way he is a friend to others – how he spends time with and builds into them and values them. Thank You for with whom he chooses to be friends – men who can influence him to know You and Your ways better and also men, that by Your grace and direction, he can influence through wise and godly counsel. Help me to remember that his friendships look differently than mine and that they need fostered and built up in different ways. May I continue to support him in his need for friendship. Amen.

I really like watching and noticing how my husband makes and maintains friendships. He’s kind of an “old soul” and I’m always intrigued by who he chooses to spend time with and who becomes a friend for more than just a season.
In watching this unfold, I have noticed that my husband is very aware of his own abilities to maintain a friendship. So he chooses very carefully with whom he can have an “iron sharpening iron” type of friendship.

Thanks, love, for carefully considering who you will spend time with and building into. That you consider both their influence on you and your influence on them. I love that you’re such a good friend to these men. And I appreciate how hard you work at these friendships.
